Witness Nature’s Power on a day trip to Ouzoud Falls

Located a scenic drive away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, the Cascades d’Ouzoud are arguably the most spectacular natural wonder in Morocco. Our day trip to Ouzoud Falls takes you deep into the Middle Atlas Mountains to witness these magnificent, multi-tiered waterfalls that plunge over 110 meters (330 feet) into the rugged canyon below. It is a perfect, family-friendly escape into nature.

Hiking the Scenic Canyon Trails

Upon arriving at the falls, you will be greeted by the roar of the cascading water and a surprisingly lush, green environment surrounded by olive groves. Accompanied by a local guide, your day trip to Ouzoud Falls involves a scenic hike down the canyon trails. The path offers numerous vantage points for incredible photography, often featuring beautiful rainbows formed by the mist. Along the way, you are almost guaranteed to encounter troops of friendly, wild Barbary macaques, a highlight for many visitors. You can read more about these fascinating primates on Wikipedia.

Boat Rides and Riverside Dining

Once you reach the bottom of the gorge, the perspective is truly awe-inspiring. A unique feature of the Ouzoud Falls day trip is taking a short, traditional wooden boat ride right up to the base of the falls, getting you close enough to feel the refreshing spray. Afterward, you can relax at one of the many cafes lining the riverbank, enjoying a traditional Berber tagine while listening to the powerful, soothing sound of the waterfalls before heading back to Marrakech.
